The Sydney Gymnastic and Aquatic Centre (SGAC) features a 4,000 sqm Olympic grade gymnastics facility, two 25 metre swimming pools and a sports medicine and rehabilitation centre. The specialist facilities are complemented with a central service area with members assistance, merchandise and a café with seating for 80 people.“The facility caters for the fitness needs, sporting aspirations and rehabilitative requirements of local, national and international members and visitors,” said the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Errington. “We are ready for a new era where children in this area have ready access to awesome aquatic facilities, and people come from far and wide for state of the art gymnastics equipment, coaches and training methods overseen by the best mentors this country has to offer.”
Importantly, the SGAC is as much about striving as it is about success. In addition to catering for first-rate, top-level ranked athletes, the centre aims to encourage sport participation and skill development for all community members of all ages and physical ability. SGAC will host a number of pilot programs including Rebound Therapy, a low intensity trampoline program for people with restricted movement; as well as a movement program for the elderly and various youth leadership and development programs.
