Build a cross city tunnel from the CBD to some where BIG - Rooty Hill RSL

Since the start of our new campaign, we have received a great deal of interest from Members, the media, the politicians and many Sydneysiders who all recognise that traffic around the city is a debacle. It doesn’t take much to get the population of Sydney riled up and when we exposed the disaster that is the road system and the lack of forethought and planning that has gone into it, we really should have known that we would touch a few nerves.

For many years the government of NSW has let down the people of western Sydney; poor public transport and road services are just the tip of the iceberg and when we acknowledge that Blacktown is the largest and fastest growing council area in NSW it makes the pain even greater. Yet when finally a sensible and much needed idea is put to government, like the Rooty Hill RSL tunnel, there is nothing but negativity and incredulous stares.

Surprising as it may seem, many of our politicians and public servants do not see the need to solve the gridlocked quagmire that is Sydney traffic, by building a tunnel from the city to Rooty Hill RSL. Instead, they go off and talk of building new rail systems, putting tolls back on the M4 and believing that toll road providers are doing a good job and that we commuters manage to make our way to work and home travelling faster than 10km/h.

To get our plans on the table and start making sure Barry and Julia take notice, we need your help. It is time to take a stand and support the “Rooty Hill RSL Tunnel party”. Go to our website, find the link to our Facebook and Twitter pages and start telling it like it is. We are all fed up with Sydney traffic; every motorway is a car park and we pay through the nose for the privilege of using them. Stand up and tell the government you have had enough.
